Hello folks..

Doesn't seem to be too busy on here.. I was expecting hoardes of adoring fans clogging the place up. Ha.

Well, I first encountered Leatherat at Weyfest 2009 and, having never seen or heard of you before, was much impressed by the awesome set on the main stage. Really, really enjoyed it. I bumped into Pete on the Saturday night while I was standing about having a drink with Dave Rees and various others, and we had a nice chat in which I drunkenly rambled about how great the gig was, and so on. Ahem. Anyway, he was nice enough to give me a copy of Garden of Eden.. cheers for that Pete, it's an excellent album. I did keep my word and did what I said I was going to, IE went and bought a t-shirt on the Sunday!

I also ordered the new album off the website... in fact, you might want to check the payment processing system because it seems to be a bit knackered. After paying, I got sent to an error page where it said the payment hadn't worked. But then I got a receipt from Paypal saying it HAD worked! So I wasn't sure... but have now received an email from Jono saying all is ok and I should get it soon.. ta Jono, looking forward to listening to it.

Talking of things being knackered, the contact form on the website is also! I sent a fairly lengthy message using it, mainly to thank Pete for the CD, but then I got an error back saying it hadn't been delivered. So I dunno whether that actually got to you or not either.

Well I hope you all enjoyed Weyfest, I know I certainly did, it was a great weekend and a good chance to have a nice big drink and catch up with various people I hadn't seen for a while, and so on. I only live up the road from Farnham in Chertsey so it was nice not to have a long, boring journey as well.

Anyway, in closing, DO MORE GIGS..... you don't seem to have that many coming up at all. Especially get your arses back down here to Surrey as soon as you can. I was actually seriously considering coming up to Banbury for the Christmas gig, but have now realised I won't be able to get time off work that week, because we'll be doing stocktaking. Christ, how miserable and very boring. Sad

Oh well, cheers all!!

MOOSE x

Hi there... thanks for stopping by to say hello!!

It is quite quiet here at the moment, isn't it?? Goes up and down a bit.

Glad you enjoyed the set!

Thanks for the comments regarding the website - looks like someone needs to re-light the wick...

Cheers,

J.

Well I would imagine it's at the Farnham Maltings on Nov.27th, Tim? Laughing

The new CD got here today, thanks Jono. I haven't had time to give it a spin yet but shall do tomorrow, as it'll help me recover from the hangover I'm bound to have as I'm just off out for some drinking and merriment!

Have a good weekend all.

The CD or the piss-up? Laughing

The piss-up was a laugh, although I seem to end up in the same pub every weekend these days. I'm sure I had more of a life before the other half gave me the elbow and sodded off into the sunset... everything seems to revolve around beer and football when you're a single bloke!

Been giving the CD a few listens on my iPod at work... At the moment I think my favourite track has to be Moments Like These, closely followed by.. erm, all the rest of them really. Party Time in Chavbury is a laugh, it sort of verges on folk-ska, almost, is the best way I can think to describe it. I take it even the pleasant village of Banbury has it's share of chavs these days, then?!

A stonking album all round, really (as is Garden of Eden). Listening to this stuff I find it hard to believe that Leatherat aren't more well known. It's been quite some time since I came across a new (to me) band that had that immediate, "Hueeerghhhh! This is great" effect... I just "got it" straight away, if that makes sense.

Really looking forward to the Farnham gig now...

Moose,

I can totally relate to your comments. I felt exactly the same way in 2006 when I first saw the guys play. They have changed a lot since then and I think they have steadily got better. The new album is bloody good. Too good really for a band that are not signed in my very baised opinion!!

Thanks Tim! But we're all too old and crusty to be signed. Well, they all are anyway...lol. Smile
